FLASH-OFF ENCLOSURES

Flash-Off enclosures and tunnels are primarily used as part of a finishing system to flash-off wet paints after and in between all coats.

Flash-Off refers to the time it takes for the solvents in paint to off-gas and evaporate or be exhausted from the painted item.

If the flash-off time is too long, the item will need to be scuffed before applying additional coats.

If the flash-off time is too short it can result in a finish with runs and irregularities.

The specific timing is directly correlated with the type of paint used and the item being painted.

Elite Air Systems can help determine the appropriate flash-off period and build to that exact specification.
